Community theatre is for everyone, whether you have years of experience or this is your first show!
We are always looking for amazing volunteers to help out with our organization.
Whether you’re looking to be involved on the stage, behind the scenes, in the house,
or the community, we have opportunities for you. Please view some ways to
get involved below, and let us know if you have any questions!
Auditions
We want to see YOU follow the yellow brick road down to our auditions!
Fill out our Audition Form prior to your audition.
When: Sunday, April 21st
2pm - 3:30pm Youth Auditions
4pm - 7pm Adult Auditions
Where: 6800 Townsend Ave Urbandale, IA
Youth: Specific for Child Roles and Ensemble. Please be prepared to sing a verse of your song of choice, NOT from Wizard of Oz. Please wear clothes you can comfortably move in as there will be a dance portion of the audition.
Adult: Specific for Dorothy, All Adult Roles & Ensemble. Please be prepared to sing 32 bars of a song from a musical, NOT from Wizard of Oz. Please wear clothes you can comfortably move in as there will be a dance portion of the audition.
Callbacks will be Monday, April 22nd.

Audition For A Show
Urbandale Community Theatre currently produces one show a year in the summer. Auditions are held in the spring, and needs vary from show to show. If you’re interested in auditioning for either the cast or pit orchestra, keep up-to-date on the latest information by filling out the volunteer form below and following us on social media.
Lend a Hand Backstage
For every great show that takes the stage, there’s a great crew behind the scenes making it all happen. From lights, to sound, to scenery and much more, we’re always looking for crew members for our summer productions. No experience necessary. If you’re interested, please fill out the volunteer form below and let us know how you’d like to help out.
Helping in the House
During the run of our shows, we’re always looking for volunteers to represent our organization to patrons. If you would like to help by ushering, taking tickets, selling merchandise, or just being a friendly face to answer questions, we’d love to have you involved. Urbandale Community Theatre is a part of our surrounding community. We have Urbandale in our name, an organization of people from around the area. We couldn't do it without their support.
