Hello, Dolly! is the epitome of the musicals of the 60s which centers around a major character – this one namely, Dolly Levi, taken from the play, The Matchmaker, Dolly Gallagher Levi is given the realization that she wants to “join the human race”… “before the parade passes by” and marry  again, while her deceased husband’s presence guides her to do so.
