SIX-ON-SIX THE MUSICAL Audition Information

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for SIX-ON-SIX THE MUSICAL presented by Urbandale Community Theatre and Epic Stage Productions. Find information on the show and the audition process, as well as details about our audition workshop, below.

Feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

Audition Information

Sunday, April 15 and Monday, April 16 (Callbacks on Tuesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 18) at 6:00pm

Mainframe Studios, Studio 103, 900 Keo Way, Des Moines

If you are interested in auditioning but not available on April 15 or 16, please contact Epic Stage Productions at 619-363-4692 or [email protected] to schedule an alternate audition date and time.

Auditions are open to the public. Please prepare a vocal selection (preferably a musical theatre song) of no more than 32 bars – an accompanist will be provided. Actors may be asked to read scenes from the script; prepared monologues are not required. Actors may be asked to learn a short dance sequence. Script, music, and audio files will be available for download from website (www.sixonsix.com) at least one week prior to auditions.

Auditions will be overseen by representatives of both Urbandale Community Theater and Epic Stage Productions along with Director & Choreographer Alison Shafer, Music Director Dani Boal, and Stage Manager Korey Williams.

24 to 30 people will be cast (see character breakdown). Do not assume there isn’t a role for you – where race, ethnicity, gender, age, or other personal differentiations are not demanded by the needs of the script, the play will be cast without regard to these attributes. Most, but not all roles are singing and dancing roles. Actors cast in the ensemble will play multiple roles and will have extensive stage time. No special skills (including basketball proficiency) are required.

No one will be pre-cast; actors who have had roles in previous productions of SIX-ON-SIX will not be given preferential consideration or guaranteed a role. Actors will receive a phone call if a specific role is being offered to you. Once all roles have been offered and accepted, the cast lists will also be posted on the website (sixonsix.com)

Do not rule out auditioning if you have existing conflicts within the rehearsal period (including other shows you may be involved with in May through July, 2018). All conflicts will be addressed on an individual basis.

This is a non-Equity production. No compensation will be provided to cast members.
