Members of this summer’s musical, Six-On-Six: The Musical, attended a special event at the Urbandale Public Library today.
With a crowd of more than 80 children (and even a few adults), Six-on-Six: The Musical production team members discussed the show, the game it’s based on, and even taught a bit of choreography. Each attendee got the chance to show off their basketball dancing skills and even take home a few souvenirs.
Urbandale Community Theatre is proud to be a member of the Urbandale community and take part in learning events like this one at the Urbandale Public Library.
Six-On-Six: The Musical run August 3rd through the 12th at Staplin Performing Arts Center. The musical celebrates the rich tradition of six-on-six girls’ high school basketball in Iowa – its glorious history, unique rules, phenomenal popularity, colorful personalities, and the Title IX legal controversy that ultimately resulted in the game’s demise 25 years ago.
